Support Your Well being with Red Light Therapy
Did you know red light therapy or LED Light Therapy can help improve the quality of your life?
- Could you benefit from better wound healing?
- Need to reduce or even eliminate pain?
- Want to slow down the aging process?
- Are you experiencing peripheral neuropathy due to chemotherapy or diabetes? Wondering when the feeling in your feet or hands will be restored,?
- Are a seeker of joint or back pain relief?
- These are just a few of many issues that can lead to relief of using the power of Photobiomodulation (PBM) or in other words power of healing light, LED light therapy.
- If you answered yes to any of those questions LED therapy can help. The Red light emitting diodes delivers energy directly to the cells where it is needed.

What is Photobiomodulation/LED Light Therapy? LED is a technical term for “Light emitting diodes” A form of light energy therapy applied to the surface of the body used to improve tissue repair, reduce/ relieve pain and inflammation and has a wide range of beneficial applications across many medical fields for therapeutic benefits. It is claimed that it stimulates and enhances cell function wherever the beams are applied.
History of Light Therapy
In Ancient Time
Since Ancient times it has been known that light can affect the growth and metabolism of organisms, from simple unicellular microorganisms to multi- cellular plants and mammals , and can have a variety of beneficial therapeutic effects. Indeed, sunlight in heliotherapy dates to 1400 BC and has been practiced for several centuries in many countries including ancient Rome, Greece and Egypt.(Roetlands,2002)
( Heliotherpay traditionally refers to treatments that has used natural sunlight. The term is also applied to artificial sources of ultraviolet visible light.)
Around 1900 AD
Around 1900, light therapies had moved from the use of direct sunlight to the use of filtered sunlight and artificial light sources. Early application of light for therapeutic purposes included treatment of skin diseases, ulcers, syphilis, lupus, wound healing and tuberculosis. (Roetlands,1991)
NASA Space Technology Shines light on Healing
Dr.Whelan’s NASA- funded research has already seen remarkable results using the light emitting diodes to promote healing of painful mouth ulcers caused by cancer therapies such as radiation and chemotherapy, The treatment is quick and painless. ( Release00-336 December 18, 2000)
“The red light penetrates to the inside of the mouth, where it seems to promote wound healing and prevent further sores in the patient’s mouth.”
“They reported 40 percent improvement in patients who had musculoskeletal training injuries treated with the light-emitting diodes.”
Who Has More Recently Studied and Used LED Light Therapy?
“NASA scientists have found that cells exposed to near- infrared light from LEDs, which is energy just outside the visible range, grow 150-200 percent faster than cells not stimulated by such light. The light arrays increase energy( ATP and Nitric oxide) that speed up the healing process”
-NASA LED Technology Press Release
I’m introducing a technology that is is new to me. It’s been around for several decades apparently and now I’m making it available beginning with people that suffer from chronic pain and Peripheral Neuropathy, Arthritis, fibromyalgia, wound healing, repetitive stress injury. This technology is a medical grade, FDA cleared LED light therapy system/Red Light Therapy (RLT). It is the most innovative and highest grade light therapy equipment available.
Why Does it Work?
Your wondering how can this work and why aren’t doctors using this technology. Well some doctors are and physical therapists as well as other massage therapist are starting to use these pads so that you will feel relief from your pain without the use of drugs that just don’t make you feel good.
One of the most dramatic aspects of light therapy is its triggering of the release of Nitric Oxide, (NO) known as the “Miracle Molecule.” NO is the body’s natural vasodilator- it widens the blood vessels and capillaries. The net result is a cascade of beneficial chemical reactions that stimulate healing. One of the biochemical effects in cells that strengthens the mitochondria- the cells powerhouse- its where the cell’s energy is created, ATP (adenosine triphosphate). By increasing the function of the mitochondria using RLT, a cell can make more ATP. With more energy, cells can function more efficiently, rejuvenate themselves, and repair damage. This response can be directly attributed to increase blood flow.
According to Dr. Len Saputo ( Infrared light therapy July12,2017) “there’s hardly a kind of pain that doesn’t respond to infra-red light therapy.”He explains that “whenever an infra-red light ray hits a blood vessel wall , causes an instant release of a compound called nitric oxide” Nitric oxide is nicknamed the “miracle molecule”. he further explains that “nitric oxide causes instantaneous pop-open of a blood vessel so suddenly that there’s a dramatic change in circulation… It also causes a reduction in inflammation that happens very quickly. This enhanced, localized blood flow improves tissues oxygenation.
It increases lymphatic drainage; it increases the activity of white cells so they clean up debris faster and it has an amazing effect on nerves.it causes nerve fibers that are pain fibers to calm down an not causes so much pain” As circulation increases in the local treatment area it allows for greater nutrient- rich blood flow to the nerves, muscles, joints and other tissues, which improves tissue oxygenation and reduces inflammation- which reduces pain and accelerates the body’s natural healing processes.( Massage Magazine , March 2019)
How Is Red Light Therapy Used
The equipment are flexible neoprene pads that conform to the body contours. When needed , the pads can be strapped around a joint , the head or a limb. LED is light-emitting diode releasing energy in the form of photons. A treatment is usually only 20 minutes long. As a massage therapist using this therapy in conjunction with a massage increases repair and the regeneration of tissue which then leads to a positive effect on your area of discomfort. it can also be used as a stand alone treatment for a specific issue such Peripheral Neuropathy or for Anti-aging . It can be used at home.
Regular use is recommended
You may need to use it several times a week to see or feel results. LED light therapy is safe for everyone, gentle, relaxing and soothing, noninvasive, no known negative side effects according to several research studies. You may feel a warming sensation as the light is applied to the area of treatment. This a noninvasive and gentle procedure with no downtime and resume your activities immediately.
